RESP has announced the dates for it 2nd Global Meeting which will be held on 3 and 4 November 2015 under the theme: “Natural Capital: overcoming challenges of delivering sustainable economic growth in the fashion, cosmetics and jewellery industries”.
Following the success of the 1st Global Meeting, a similar structure will be used for this 2nd Meeting where one day will be dedicated to members only with the view of tacking stock of progress achieved in a number of priority work areas; and one day will be open to representatives from industry, policy makers, research and civil society organisations who are interested in improving their practices and operations to effectively manage and account for their natural capital.
Participants will be able to:
- Share insights from industry and research leaders on approaches, tools and technologies being developed to improve the management and measurement of natural capital;
- Get informed about current international policy, regulatory and industry processes and learn from peers on the potential benefits and opportunities in engaging more actively with these processes;
- Explore how brands and suppliers are successfully working together to improve the sustainability performance of the industry;
- Access state-of-the-art knowledge on practices that are being developed and tested on the field to promote net positive biodiversity impacts with regards to small scale and artisanal mining, agroforestry systems, animal grazing and husbandry, farming and ranching systems.
